01The irritation
The calls kept failing.
While I was away from home, calls with my family and partner were unreliable enough to become a product question. Could the browser hold video, files, applications and people in one shared place without demanding a specialised client?
02The pivot
The consumer product became a classroom.
MashMe started as browser collaboration and moved towards education, training and enterprise rooms. Public company material from 2014 reported more than 800,000 users across 72 countries. Scale exposed the parts a demo never does: bandwidth, support, reliability and customers whose day continues when yours breaks.
03The next room
Software grew into architecture.
The later Room of the Future joined the WebRTC platform to large physical spaces. SyncRTC joined LoopUp in 2021, and that line continued under the Hybridium name.
