01The product
Guardrails without taking the keys.
As co-founder and CTO, I worked on an Ethereum Layer 2 built with Arbitrum Orbit and a non-custodial smart wallet using passkeys, account abstraction and permissioned access to applications.
02The build
Infrastructure from a moving office.
Much of Kinto was built while travelling through Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and the rest of Asia with my girlfriend and my friend and co-founder Ramón Recuero. The office changed more often than the time zone in the calendar.
03The ending
The company closed. The chapter did not become simpler afterwards.
In July 2025 an exploit hit a legacy token proxy on Arbitrum. Kinto’s L2, wallets, user assets on Kinto and core infrastructure were not breached. The team restored operations and attempted a recovery, but further funding and market conditions made continuation impossible. Kinto closed in September 2025.
